A message from Tony Price, Vicar of Marston with Elsfield |
| The work
of extending and re-ordering Elsfield Church has been going on since June
and is already well advanced. However, as so often happens, the church fabric
has been found to be in worse condition than was thought. In particular
the floor, which was made from timbers possibly from the Spanish Armada,
is substantially rotten and will cost an as yet unknown sum to make good.
The only thing we know is that it is bound to take us over budget.
If anyone is able to contribute in any way great or small towards the work of putting Elsfield Church in good order for future generations and making it an even more valuable part of village life, we would ask you to do so. If you can make a gift, please send it to Keith Aldridge at 1 Manor Cottages, Elsfield, or to The Revd. Tony Price, Marston Vicarage, Oxford OX3 0PR. Please make cheques payable to "St.T Thomas of Canterbury, Elsfield PCC". Thank you. August 2002 |
